Who Is Richard Robertson?
Richard Robertson, the name and creative powerhouse behind Richard Robertson Landscapes, (RRL) was born and raised in Sorrento and has made the Mornington Peninsula his home ever since. He not only loves the area but knows it intimately. He started Richard Robertson Landscapes in 1998, which gives him over 30 years of local landscaping experience. And his portfolio can be seen any day of the week between Blairgowrie and Portsea. There’s a good chance that any one of the fantastic gardens you see on the Peninsula have probably been designed, constructed or inspired by Richard. At the 2014 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show Richard Robertson Landscapes constructed the Award winning James Ross ‘Peninsula’ exhibition. An achievement Richard is justly proud of.

It’s not just creative ideas that make Richard the most professional landscape designer and creator on the Mornington Peninsula. Licenced with the Victorian Building Authority for structural landscaping, a member of the Professional Industry body ‘Landscaping Victoria’, a Master Builder’s Master Tradesman, Richard Robertson is also currently (Feb 2014) the only Southern Peninsula Landscaper to be fully Licensed and Registered by the Victorian Building Authority for structural landscaping as a DBL (Domestic Builder Limited).

A philosophy that is founded in the fact that it is, as Richard says, all about the design. A landscape is not just ‘pretty’ but compliments the architecture it surrounds, as well as the property’s location and aspect. “You wouldn’t try to grow an English Oak on a secondary sand dune, it’s just not right,” says Richard.
