I am a tattoo artist operating out of 1891 Tattoo Co, in my not-so-biased opinion Adelaide’s best tattoo studio. I have been designing and creating tattoos for clients in South Africa and Australia for over 15 years, and have designed absolutely any idea you could imagine – so don’t be afraid to bring me your most out there concept.
I apprenticed in Johannesburg South Africa in the early 2000’s in a classic street shop, developing my craft and learning from some of the best artists in the country.
I learnt all the skills needed to do business in a fast-paced environment. I spent 3 years there. after which I took a long absence from the industry to join the Royal Marines (U.K), were I served at 42 Commando until I was discharged. Whilst there I met my wife (an Adelaide local) after a brief private securities contract we moved back to live in S.A.
I have always had a very specific idea about the space from which I wanted to work from, while some studios were fantastic in some areas they lacked in others. Some placed great importance on Awards others the Clients. So, I guested and worked across Adelaide I came to realise the only way to get the true vibe I wanted was to open my own creative space. Thus 1891 Original tattoo co. was formed.
